DEFINITION OF GORIN KIAI JUTSU
GORIN or GORINTO
A small stone statuette, composed of five
sections, superimposed, one on top of the other,
found in Japanese gardens and representing the
elements. This, because the Gorin KiaT Jutsu
school works on techniques and katas based on
the elements earth, water, fire, air and wind,
ether and space.
KIAI
A Japanese term used in martial arts for the
short yell or shout uttered when performing an
attacking move. It is controlled by the abdomen,
through a deep breathing in the belly, engaging
the mind, and then making the abdomen vibrate.
The kiaT projects mental, physical and
psychological energy. We work with different
forms of Kial, words and sounds which are
related to the five elements and to organs of
the body.

GORIN KIAI JUTSU : THE ART OF WORKING AS WELL
FOR THE EXTERNAL BODY AS FOR THE INNER SELF.
EXTERNAL : Distance, middle distance, close
quarter work. Links between standing and floor
with kick. On floor, sequence with kick, armlock
and strangulation.
INTERNAL : The skill of striking on parts of the
body. The art of breathing. The art of
understanding the body’s energy.
This method of activity has been carefully put
together by JOSEPH RUIZ, holder of the National
Diploma 2nd Degree, who has lengthy experience
in the world of martial arts. Competitor,
teacher and student for more than 40 years in
the varied methods of traditional BUDO, JOSEPH
RUIZ has drawn up this new style called GORIN
KIAI JUTSU ; a traditional approach which
combines the use of vital energy and
concentration. From the technical point of view,
GORIN KIAI JUTSU is made up of many studies of
combinations of strikes : blows, kicks, feet,
fists, armlocks, throws and submissions. From
the perspective of the inner self, the main
vital points are : the forms of breathing,
specifics, linkage, direction of the blow, the
damage, points of preparation, the antidote.
The method of physical and sporting activity,
complete without competition, approaches the
border of competition with a richness of
standing and floor work, as well as internal
work..
